Terms of Service
Version 2026-10-draft-2 · Updated 22 October 2026
1. The short version
Mori is a pet-care companion for the United Arab Emirates: reminders and routines, health records, a guide to local vets, groomers, boarding and pet-friendly places, and Maggy, an AI assistant. It is a helpful tool, not a vet, a booking service or a guarantee about any business.
You stay in charge of your pet's care. Check anything important with your vet, and check any place with the place itself before you go.
These terms are a draft for legal review. [Draft for legal review]
2. Who we are and what these terms are
Mori is provided by Lycoris Labs Inc, [Registered address, Dubai, UAE] ("Mori", "we", "us", "our"). "You" means the person using the app or website. "Mori" also means the mobile apps, the web app and the website at the address shown in the app (together, the "Service").
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and us about your use of the Service. They work together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how information is handled. By tapping to accept, or by using the Service, you agree to both.
If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
3. Who can use Mori
You must be at least 16 years old, or have a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms for you. If you use Mori on behalf of a business, you confirm you are allowed to accept these Terms for it.
You are responsible for the device you use, for keeping it secure, and for what is done with it. Please make sure the pets, photos and other information you add are yours to add.
4. What the Service does
Care planner and reminders: you create routines (meals, walks, medicines, grooming, vet visits). Reminders are scheduled on your phone. They depend on your phone's settings, battery, permissions and operating system, so they may be late or missed. Do not rely on Mori as your only way to give essential or time-critical medication.
Health records and weights: you can keep vaccine, medicine and vet-visit notes and weights. You enter the information, and it is only as accurate as what you enter.
Discover: a directory of vets, groomers, boarding, sitters, trainers, shops and pet-friendly places, with filters for opening hours, distance and more. See section 6.
Outings (also called Wander while it is in testing): information about places where pets may be welcome, such as parks, beaches, cafes and hotels. See section 7.
Maggy: an AI assistant for everyday pet questions and for finding places in our directory. See section 5.
Features may change, be tested with some users only, or be paused. Some features may be marked as coming soon and may not be available yet.
5. Maggy, our AI assistant
Maggy gives general information about everyday pet care. Maggy is not a veterinarian, does not examine your pet, and does not give veterinary advice, diagnosis, prognosis or treatment. Maggy never suggests medicine names for your pet or doses. If a medicine is part of your pet's routine, copy the dose from your vet's label and follow your vet's instructions.
Maggy can be wrong, out of date or incomplete. Answers are generated by an AI model and may sound confident even when they are mistaken. Always check anything that matters with a qualified vet.
In an emergency (for example collapse, trouble breathing, seizures, suspected poisoning, heatstroke, serious injury, bleeding that will not stop, or a swollen belly) do not wait for the app. Call a vet or a 24-hour clinic immediately. Maggy may show 24-hour clinics from our directory, but we cannot promise they are open, staffed or able to treat your pet.
Please do not share sensitive information with Maggy. This includes passwords, one-time codes, card or bank details, identity or passport numbers, Emirates ID numbers, government or immigration case details, other people's private information, and health information about people. Maggy does not need any of it. We may block, discard or ask you to rephrase messages that appear to contain it. [Draft for legal review: confirm wording once automatic sensitive-information screening is released.]
Maggy only discusses pets and the Service. We may limit, block or ignore messages that are off-topic, abusive, unsafe, or that try to make Maggy ignore her rules, reveal her instructions, or behave in ways she is not designed to.
Maggy recommends places only from Mori's own directory. A recommendation is not an endorsement, and it is not a statement that a business is good, safe, open or suitable for your pet.
You can report any answer in the app (Report this answer). Reports help us improve safety. We cannot promise a reply to each report.
We may set daily and per-minute limits on messages to keep Maggy available for everyone.
6. The local directory (Discover)
The directory is informational. We gather it from public sources such as businesses' own websites, government and tourism pages, insurers' published network lists, published guides and OpenStreetMap. Each place shows its sources and the date we last checked.
Places are marked Unverified unless the business has confirmed its details to us. Listings may be incomplete, wrong or out of date. Opening hours, prices, services, addresses, phone numbers and map positions change. Distances are straight-line and approximate. Where we only know the area of a place, its distance is to the centre of that area.
We do not endorse, recommend, certify or guarantee any business listed. We are not responsible for what a business does or does not do, for its advice, goods or services, or for any loss or injury connected with a visit.
Mori does not take bookings or payments for any place. Calling, messaging or visiting a place is between you and that place. Any booking, price, refund or complaint is between you and the place.
If you see a mistake, use Report a mistake on the place. Businesses that want to correct or confirm their details can contact us at the address in section 20.
We do not use paid placement in how places are ranked. If that ever changes, sponsored places will be clearly labelled.
7. Pet-friendly places and outings
Information about places where pets may be welcome (parks, beaches, trails, cafes, restaurants, hotels and similar) comes from public sources and is shown with its source and checked date. It describes what a source stated at that time.
Pet policies, leash and size rules, fees, areas and opening hours change often, and the same place can have different rules for different areas or times. Some places do not allow pets at all. Always confirm with the venue before you go, follow signs and staff instructions, and follow the law.
You are responsible for your pet's behaviour, safety and comfort, for keeping it on a leash where required, for cleaning up, for registration, vaccination and microchipping requirements, and for any damage or injury it causes.
8. Your information and your content
You own the pet profiles, photos, notes, records and other content you add to Mori ("Your Content"). We do not claim ownership of it.
You give us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process and display Your Content only as needed to run the Service for you (for example, to show your pet's photo in your app, schedule your reminders and answer your questions to Maggy). This licence ends when you delete the content or erase your data, except where we must keep something by law or for a short technical period in backups.
Today, your pets, photos, tasks, records and settings are stored on your own device. Section 2 of the Privacy Policy explains what leaves your device and when.
You confirm that Your Content is lawful and that you have the right to share it. Do not upload content that is illegal, abusive, hateful, that shows cruelty to animals, or that infringes someone's rights.
9. Acceptable use
Please use Mori kindly and lawfully. You agree not to: break any law (including UAE animal welfare, pet registration and import rules); harm or mistreat an animal or encourage others to; illegally buy, sell or trade animals; copy, scrape, resell or republish the directory or our content in bulk; interfere with or overload the Service or try to get around its limits or security; reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code or models, except where the law allows; upload malware; impersonate others; or use Mori for anything unrelated to caring for pets.
Prohibited uses of Maggy include: prompt injection or other attempts to override her rules, reveal her instructions or system configuration, extract other people's data, generate content that is unsafe, deceptive, sexual, violent or unlawful, ask for medicine doses or human medical or legal advice, or to automate large volumes of requests.
We may limit, suspend or end access for anyone who seriously or repeatedly breaks these rules. See section 17.
10. Intellectual property and third-party data
Mori's name, logo, the Maggy character, illustrations, text, layouts, software and the way the directory is selected and organised belong to us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for its intended purpose. We reserve all other rights.
Map positions and some place details are derived from OpenStreetMap data, which is © OpenStreetMap contributors and available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL). Third-party names, logos and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to identify them.
If you send us feedback or ideas, you allow us to use them without owing you anything.
11. Third-party services, app stores and links
The Service may link to or hand off to other services, for example the phone dialler, WhatsApp, a maps app, a browser, or a business's website. Those services are not ours and have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for them.
If you downloaded Mori from the Apple App Store or Google Play, Apple or Google (the "App Store") is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for Mori. You must also follow the App Store's terms. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms where Apple's terms require it. If there is a claim about the app, contact us first at the address in section 20.
12. Availability and changes to the Service
We work to keep Mori available and accurate, but we cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted, error-free or available in every location or on every device. We may add, change, test with some users, pause or remove features, including free features, with reasonable notice where practical.
Mori is free to use today. If we introduce paid features, we will tell you the price, what you get and how to cancel before you are charged, and purchases through the App Store follow the App Store's rules.
13. Disclaimers
Mori is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by UAE law, we do not promise that information in the Service (including Maggy's answers, the directory, outings information, reminders and the guides) is accurate, complete, current or suitable for your pet or your purpose.
Mori does not provide veterinary, legal, immigration or other professional advice. Guides about UAE pet rules summarise public sources at the date shown and are not legal advice. Rules change; check with the relevant authority, such as the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment or your municipality, before you act.
Nothing in these Terms removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by UAE law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or loss of opportunity, or for harm to or the loss of a pet that results from your reliance on the Service, from a missed or late reminder, from information provided by Maggy, the directory or the guides, or from dealings with any place or provider.
To the extent liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total liability to you for all claims arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or AED 100 if you paid nothing. [Draft for legal review: counsel to confirm this cap is enforceable under UAE Civil Transactions Law and consumer protection law.]
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or deliberate wrongdoing, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
15. Indemnity
If you misuse the Service or break these Terms, and that causes us loss or a claim from a third party, you agree to cover our reasonable losses to the extent allowed by law. [Draft for legal review: counsel to confirm whether an indemnity from consumers is appropriate.]
16. Privacy, data and your controls
Our Privacy Policy explains what information is stored, where, why, for how long, and your rights. It forms part of these Terms.
You can export everything Mori holds on your device, and erase everything, at any time in Settings > Privacy and data.
17. Suspension and ending
You can stop using Mori at any time. To remove your data from your device, use Erase everything in Settings > Privacy and data, and then delete the app.
We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if we must by law, or if we stop offering the Service. If we end the Service, we will give reasonable notice where practical and a chance to export your data.
Sections that by their nature should continue (for example intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law) continue after the Terms end.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. We will change the version and date at the top of the Terms and, where the change is important, ask you to accept the new version before you continue. If you do not agree to the new Terms, stop using the Service. The latest version is always available in the app (Settings) and at the web address shown in the consent screen.
19. Governing law, disputes and general terms
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of [Emirate, e.g. Dubai]. The courts of [Dubai, UAE] have non-exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any right you have under mandatory consumer law to bring a claim elsewhere. [Draft for legal review: counsel to confirm governing law, courts, and whether DIFC or arbitration should apply.]
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a complaint informally.
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service and replace earlier understandings about it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours as part of a business change, with notice where the law requires it.
These Terms are written in English. An Arabic translation will follow. If the two differ, the English version prevails, unless the law requires otherwise.
